The DIALECT4 project proudly announces the release of its new educational resources, the DIALECT Media Literacy Toolkit for Children 10–12 Years Old – “Media Smart on the Pitch: A Toolkit for Trainers & Coaches” and the DIALECT Toolkit for Children 10–12 Years Old – “Beyond Goals: A Toolkit for Coaches & Trainers.”  These toolkits are designed to support trainers, educators and coaches in promoting media literacy, responsible internet use and essential life skills among children aged 10–12 years old.

“Media Smart on the Pitch” focuses on experiential activities that help children understand how to safely navigate the internet and media environments. Through engaging exercises, young learners become more critical and confident users of digital media.

“Beyond Goals” offers hands-on exercises that foster life skills development, teamwork and communication. It also introduces an age-adapted version of the football3 methodology, which uses football as an educational tool to promote inclusion, respect and collaboration.

Both toolkits are available in English, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, and Serbian, ensuring accessibility and impact across diverse European communities. You can find them in the outcomes section of DIALECT4 website here.

These resources mark another significant step in DIALECT4’s mission to empower young people through education, sport and media awareness.

Dialect 4 News

The DIALECT4 project successfully held an online training of Trainers hosted by ActionAid Hellas, bringing together trainers, mediators and coaches from all partner countries participating in the project.

During this interactive session, participants were introduced to the newly developed DIALECT4 educational toolkits, “Media Smart on the Pitch” and “Beyond Goals.” Trainers explored the structure and methodology of the materials, discussed best practices and shared ideas on how to implement the activities effectively within their local contexts.

The meeting also served as a valuable space for open dialogue and peer exchange, where participants could ask questions, clarify details and deepen their understanding of how football can be used as a tool for education, inclusion, and life skills development.

The training also included a dedicated session on Child Protection Policies, ensuring that all trainers and coaches are fully aware of safeguarding principles and best practices. Participants discussed how to create safe, inclusive and supportive learning environments for children, both during sports activities and in online interactions.

The session concluded on an optimistic note, with all partners agreeing to reconnect next month for the next project meeting to continue their collaboration and share feedback from the first stages of implementation.

Dialect 4 News

The kick-off meeting of the DIALECT4 project took place in Athens, Greece, on 6th and 7th February 2025. This meeting marked the beginning of the project’s mission to build on the partnership’s five years of experience in implementing the DIALECT football for inclusion methodology. The project, which has previously worked with adolescents in disadvantaged communities in Greece, Italy, Hungary, and Serbia, now aims to address the emerging need for early-age intervention, focusing on children aged 10-12. DIALECT4 seeks to combat radicalization and enhance resilience against intolerant rhetoric and extremist beliefs, both in society and in the realm of sports. During the meeting, the partnership set the timeline and initial planning of activities, with research activities set to begin soon, and next steps were carefully outlined to guide the project’s progress.
